Job Overview: Assistant Manager – Research and Development
We are seeking a Senior Research Associate to join our dynamic R&D team. The successful candidate will contribute to the formulation and development of new skincare products, as well as the improvement of existing formulations. This role involves hands-on lab work, data analysis, and team collaboration to ensure products are safe, compliant, and aligned with market needs.
Key Responsibilities as Assistant Manager – R&D at Vilvah
Formulation & Development:
- Lead the development of innovative skincare formulations, from concept to production scale-up. Focus on ingredient selection, efficacy, and stability.
Product Testing & Evaluation:
- Perform and oversee testing for product stability, safety, and performance. Conduct in-vitro and in-vivo testing when necessary and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Ingredient Research:
- Conduct research on active ingredients, raw materials, and new technologies in the skincare industry. Stay updated with trends and innovations to incorporate into formulations.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze experimental data and generate detailed reports on findings. Present results and recommendations to senior management and cross-functional teams.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs, to ensure formulations meet consumer expectations and regulatory guidelines.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure that all products and formulations comply with local and international regulations (e.g., FDA, EU, etc.) for cosmetic safety.
Process Optimization:
- Identify opportunities for improving the efficiency of R&D processes and contribute to continuously improving product development workflows.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- 4-5 years of experience in formulation development, preferably in skincare, cosmetics, or personal care products.
- Strong understanding of skin biology and the science behind cosmetic ingredients.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for cosmetic products (e.g., FDA, EU regulations).
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills, with experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
