Applications are invited from Indian citizens for filling up the following post of Junior Research Fellow under a purely time-bound project sponsored by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in the Department of Medical Devices, NIPER Kolkata.
Project Title: “Fiber Reinforced Poly (l-lactic acid) for the Fabrication of Bioabsorbable, and Antibiotic Surgical Staples for Wound Closing”.

Description of the Project: The project involves the fabrication of degradable staples and their in-vitro and in-vivo evaluation as per ISO.

Educational Qualification and Experience/Skill:
M. Tech/ M.S (Pharm)/ M. Pharm/ M. Sc in
Pharmacy/ Medical Devices, Biomedical Engineering, Material Science, Nanotechnology, Physics, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or Equivalent with a minimum of 60% marks in the degree.Candidates with experience in the synthesis of biomaterials, along with expertise in their mechanical and biological characterization, will be given priority.
Salary: ₹37,000/- with admissible HRA
Terms and Conditions:
- The above position is purely contractual for a tenure of 12 months and may be extended for one more year based on the performance of the candidate or the termination of the project, whichever is earlier. The continuation of the fellowship is subject to satisfactory performance.
- Selected candidates will not be entitled to claim regular appointment/absorption in the institute.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
- Applications reaching after the specified time may not be entertained.
- Valid GPAT/NET/GATE qualification is mandatory.
- Candidates with prior experience of working in a funded project will be preferred.
- Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidature.
