Job Details for Computational Chemist Role:
- Job Location: Bangalore
- Experience Required: 2+ Years (Post Ph.D. / Postdoc)
- Education: Ph.D. or Postdoc in Computational Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, or related fields
Core Purpose of the Role
The incumbent will leverage the CADD/molecular modeling techniques to address the challenges in Drug Discovery. Understand and align with the business needs of Syngene Discovery Services and provide effective business solutions by Implementing new solutions/applications and provide support for existing scientific applications running at Syngene.
Role Responsibilities:

Utilize molecular modeling tools to support drug discovery projects as Computational Chemist.

Design and evaluate small molecules and biologics using computational techniques

Identify areas where CADD can accelerate or improve discovery outcomes

Lead or collaborate in multi-disciplinary project teams

Coach and mentor team members, provide feedback, and support development

Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders

Set goals, manage performance, and align activities with broader project objectives
Qualification
-
Ph.D. / Postdoc in Computational Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Chemistry preferred for Computational Chemist.

Minimum 2 years of industrial experience in molecular modeling and drug discovery

Proficiency in molecular modeling software (e.g., Schrodinger, MOE, Discovery Studio)

Strong programming skills in Python or other scientific languages

Proven problem-solving and team collaboration capabilities

Project leadership and stakeholder communication skills as Computational Chemist.
