Job Overview
As the Assistant Manager – R&D Formulation, you’ll play a key role in driving the development and refinement of cutting-edge formulations for our skin care, cosmetics, and oral care product lines. You’ll work closely with the R&D team, cross-functional departments, and external partners to bring innovative, safe, and market-ready products to life. This role combines hands-on formulation expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring projects align with timelines, quality standards, and our company’s vision.
Key Responsibilities for Assistant Manager:
- Lead the formulation development process for skin care, cosmetics, and oral care products, from concept to commercialization.
- Conduct research to identify new ingredients, technologies, and trends that enhance product performance and appeal.
- Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and marketing teams to ensure formulations meet regulatory, safety, and customer requirements.
- Oversee product stability testing, troubleshoot formulation challenges, and optimize recipes for scalability as Assistant Manager .
- Manage and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
- Maintain detailed documentation of formulations, processes, and trials for compliance and future reference.
- Support private-label clients by customizing formulations to meet their unique brand needs.
Qualifications for Assistant Manager:
Hard Skills:
- Proficiency in formulating skin care (e.g., creams, serums, masks), cosmetics (e.g., foundations, lipsticks), and oral care products (e.g., toothpaste, mouthwash).
- Strong knowledge of raw materials, emulsification techniques, and cosmetic chemistry principles.
- Experience with laboratory equipment (e.g., mixers, pH meters, viscometers) and stability testing protocols.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, EU Cosmetics Regulation, GMP).
- Competence in project management tools and documentation software (e.g., MS Office, formulation databases).
