Description

Brief Job Overview:

The Technical Associate/Scientist I at USP is responsible for the synthesis and delivery of USP Reference Standard candidate materials and API impurities. This role involves designing cost-effective synthetic routes, literature search, synthesis planning and execution, project reporting, and adherence to quality management systems and lab safety practices.

Responsibilities:

As a Technical Associate/Scientist I at USP, your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out a literature search related to the assigned projects
  • Designing synthetic routes and preparing project proposals
  • Performing reactions on a small to large scale
  • Purifying compounds through various techniques
  • Troubleshooting synthesis and purification issues
  • Contributing to challenging projects with innovative methodologies

Requirements:

  • M Sc (Organic Chemistry) from a reputed university
  • 0-1 year of experience for Technical Associate, 1-3 years for Scientist-I
  • Strong background in synthetic organic chemistry
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Additional Preferences:

  • Extensive knowledge on organic reactions
  • Experience in handling sensitive chemicals
  • Track record of patents/publications in synthetic organic chemistry
