Position Description:
- Position Title: Research Scientist – Process Innovation
- Reporting to: Sr. Team Leader – Process Innovation
- Level: E1 – E4
Position Purpose:
The role holder shall report to the Sr. Team Leader – Process Innovation and shall perform research activities such as designing and conducting scientific experiments, analyzing and interpreting results to bring significant value to the business of PI by Process Innovation.
Strategic Responsibilities of a Research Scientist:
- Actively imbibing the values and philosophy of PI Industries
- Efficiently contributing to the overall success of CreAgro Chemistry
- Fulfilling requirements as set by Group Leader and Team Leader
- Ensuring the security of intellectual property for CreAgro
- Updating self with respect to chemistry knowledge through literature scanning
- Supporting the Team Leader with special focus on target setting
Operational Responsibilities:
The responsibilities include working with the Team to achieve targets, keeping updated on synthetic chemistry development, and documenting research results effectively.
People Responsibilities:
- Supporting Team members by providing peer feedback and fostering an environment of knowledge sharing within the Team.
Education Qualification of a Research Scientist:
MSc/PhD in Organic Chemistry from a reputed University / Institute from India or overseas with excellent academic credentials
Work Experience:
Good experimentalist with 2-7 years of experience in industry, preferably from Contract Research Organization (CRO) & Contract Research and Manufacturing Services (CRAMS), with experience in process research.
Functional Competencies:
The candidate should have knowledge of Organic Chemistry, be proficient in using search engines like Scifinder / Reaxys, have lab experience, interpret analytical data, good experimentation skills, MS Office Skills, and be a team player for effective interaction.
Interaction Complexity and Team Work:
- Internal: Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry Team members, Process R&D chemists and engineers, SCM Team, Other support functions
- External: Chemical Logistics, Service Engineers
Additional Accountabilities:
Responsibilities include maintaining healthy working relationships with related teams, departments, ensuring individual safety, and fostering knowledge sharing.
