Description
As a Materials Engineer/Expert FTIR Spectroscopist, you will take ownership for conducting Failure Analysis on cross-functional projects involving different internal and external partners and ensuring that they are planned, well-executed and on time. This is a great opportunity to be a technical leader.

Minimum Qualifications (You MUST have these):
- Education: Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in a relevant science field OR deep experience with FTIR and failure analysis.
- FTIR Experience: Lots of hands-on experience using FTIR to analyze organic materials like plastics, polymers, and adhesives, especially to figure out why things break.
- Material Knowledge: Strong understanding of polymers and adhesives, particularly in consumer products or electronics.
- Technical Skills: Expert in interpreting FTIR results accurately, without relying too much on automated tools.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to design and run experiments using FTIR to solve material problems.
- Teamwork: Ability to work with other scientists and engineers.
- Electronics Background: Knowledge of materials used in consumer electronics and how they fail.
- Communication: Clear communication of technical findings.
Preferred Qualifications (These are a plus):
- Leadership: Experience leading FTIR-based failure analysis projects.
- In-Depth Analysis: Ability to deeply analyze materials to find the root cause of problems.
- Collaboration: Strong ability to work with various teams across the company.
- Advanced FTIR Skills: Expert in using all types of FTIR techniques and interpreting complex spectra.
