Job Title: Lab Technician – R&D
Location: Chengalpet Taluk, TN, IN, 603002
Basic Purpose
Catalyst Production & Testing – Meeting the Research and Prototype Sample production requirements of R&D department of BASF Catalysts R&D division.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Prepare catalysts using impregnation, slurry preparation and coating on substrates.
- Make observations during the experiments and report/discuss these observations with the researchers.
- To maintain a Clean and Safe Work environment by following the best practices of 3C & 5S, demonstrate a Continuous Improvement mindset to improve lab safety and quality of output.
- Prioritize safety in lab operation; always follow the requirement of prescribed personal protective equipment (PPEs) as per the area of operation / activity performed.
- Ensure all inventory in the lab area is adequately stored as per best practices with labeling and packaging for raw materials, intermediate materials and finished catalyst articles as per site procedures.
- Work with individuals from the same team as well as other teams and ensure complex tasks with competing priorities are completed in a timely and effective manner.
- Perform necessary quality checks on the slurry / coated parts either within the R&D area or with support from other departments.
Job Requirement
Basic Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering or related fields, required
Experience: 1+ years of prior lab experience in an industrial environment, required
Preferred Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering/Materials Science or related fields
