A. JOB SUMMARY
Build a Total Quality Management culture by:
- Driving/developing the capabilities of associates on quality aspects on the job.
- Evaluating process/equipment capabilities through validations and process monitoring.
- Ensuring manufacturing processes/process quality activities comply with KORE, ISO, GMP, and local regulations by providing SOPs, technical support, and decisions on quality issues.
- Establishing and maintaining an effective, governed, and documented system for company processes integrated and compliant with applicable standards.
- Evaluating new packaging materials and ensuring packaging fitness for use.
- Handling documentation for all packing materials as part of the quality system.
- Utilizing digital skills and data analysis.
B. KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Process Quality Activities (60%)
- Ensure plant operations align with new KORE requirements, regulations, quality management methods, and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular risk assessments for plant processes to mitigate quality risks.
- Train associates on quality monitoring aspects to build quality into processes.
- Validate equipment and processes and ensure adherence to high GMP standards.
- Compile technical information post-commissioning into a technical library/database.
- Ensure adherence to manufacturing instructions (SMI) by production teams.
- Use problem-solving tools for root-cause analysis and corrective action plans.
- Support corrective/preventive actions for PDR, TDQ, and manufacturing problems.
- Perform process validations and capability studies to ensure production equipment meets KORE requirements.
- Inspect manufacturing equipment after maintenance and calibrations.
- Assess processes/operations to eliminate non-value activities through OE methodologies.
- Review analysis reports and authorize supplier-related documentation as per KO requirements.
2. Plant GMP / Security Program (10%)
- Monitor adherence to GMP of the highest standard and ensure effective plant security programs.
- Follow up on GMP program execution for general facilities and manufacturing areas.
- Manage pest control and housekeeping programs by monitoring contractors’ performance.
3. Management System (15%)
- Implement Quality requirements (KORE and ISO) and suggest improvements based on food/pharma industry experience.
- Lead quality and food safety management system implementation and improvement.
- Support internal audit teams and participate in audits to enhance the plant’s quality systems.
4. New Packaging Development and Routine Incoming Inspection (10%)
- Collaborate with Asia packaging specialists to develop new suppliers and processes.
- Optimize packaging materials to improve plant performance while meeting specifications.
- Maintain packaging information in PICASSO and related databases.
5. Capability Development (5%)
- Identify training needs of associates.
- Lead mid-year/annual performance reviews, provide feedback, and document associate performance.
C. COMMUNICATION COMPLEXITIES
- Impact spans all manufacturing operations, warehouse, and distribution.
- Includes customer complaints investigation and resolutions.
D. ANALYSIS
- Visit customers to resolve quality issues.
- Coordinate cross-audits and quality initiatives with CPS plants and Corporate Quality.
E. JUDGMENT AND DECISION MAKING
- Authority to stop beverage base production for potential process or product quality issues.
F. INNOVATION
- Suggest solutions to existing processes and materials to improve product and quality systems.
G. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct performance reviews for processes and equipment.
- Identify training needs and train associates.
H. QUALIFICATIONS / COMPETENCIES / SKILLS
Leader of Others:
- 4–5 years of experience in production supervision in food/beverage or pharmaceutical industries.
- Familiarity with ISO, food safety quality systems, and KORE requirements preferred.
- Strong GMP experience, problem-solving, strategic thinking, planning, and execution skills.
- Six Sigma methodology or certification is a plus.
I. RELATED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Excellent time management for simultaneous project involvement.
J. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Postgraduate/Master’s degree in life sciences.
K. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in chemistry, food science, biochemistry, food technology, or food engineering.
L. CULTURAL DIVERSITY
- Preference for local employment wherever practical.
- Fluency in oral and written English is required for communication with CPS Plants or Corporate Quality.
M. WORKING CONDITIONS
- Hazards and risks typical of a CPS manufacturing plant.
N. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Approximately 10%, in response to problem-solving needs.
