PROJECT VACANCY – RESEARCH ASSOCIATE I UNDER PROJECT NO. GP-483
Walk-in-Interview on 17.01.2025 (Friday)

Applications are invited from eligible Indian nationals for one position of Research Associate I under a project entitled “Peptide-metal chelator conjugates as potential therapeutic candidates for multifaceted amyloid-β toxicity in Alzheimer’s disease” sponsored by Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), GoI, New Delhi [GP-483] under Prof. Rahul Jain, HoD, Department of Medicinal Chemistry, NIPER-SAS Nagar. The position is purely on temporary basis initially for a period of 1 (one) year (extendable on yearly basis on the performance of the candidate for a maximum period of two years and ten months) and is co-terminus with the duration of the project.
1. Essential Qualifications:
- Ph.D. (Medicinal Chemistry/Peptide Chemistry). Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis in the above subjects will also be eligible (along with proof of submission) to apply.
OR - M. Pharm./M.S. (Pharm.) in Medicinal Chemistry with three years of research/teaching experience after M. Pharm./M.S. (Pharm.). Candidate must have at least one research paper in a science citation indexed (SCI) journal.
2. Desired Qualifications:
- Expertise in solid phase and solution phase peptide synthesis.
- Expertise in analysis & purification of peptides using analytical/preparative HPLC.
- Prior experience in performing ThT assay, cell viability assay, ANS fluorescence assay, circular dichroism spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering spectroscopy, and data analysis using high-resolution mass spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy is required.
3. Age limit: Below 40 years as on the date of Walk-in-Interview.
4. Fellowship: Rs. 58,000/- p.m. consolidated plus HRA, if applicable as per DST Norms.
5. Tenure of the position: The above position is purely on temporary basis for a period of 1 year (extendable on yearly basis on the performance of the candidate for a maximum period of two years and ten months) and is co-terminus with the duration of the project.
6. Walk-in-Interview Details: Candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria may appear for Walk-in-Interview to be held on 17.01.2025 (Friday) from 10:00 am onwards in Room No. B-204, Block-B, Department of Medicinal Chemistry, NIPER-SAS Nagar – 160062 (Punjab).
7. Required Documents for Interview: Candidates appearing for Walk-in-Interview are required to bring duly filled application form in the prescribed proforma with latest passport size photograph pasted on it along with attested copies of testimonials / degrees / certificates etc. in support of the averments made in the qualification, experience, and other columns in the application form. Candidates must ensure that they fulfil the eligibility criteria.

9. Application Fee:
- Application fee as detailed below is required to be submitted at the time of Walk-in-Interview in the form of Demand Draft in favour of ‘Director, NIPER-SAS Nagar’ payable at SAS Nagar (Mohali)/Chandigarh:
- i. Application fee for General and OBC category candidates: Rs. 500/-
- ii. Application fee for SC/ST/PWD/female candidates: NIL
- Application fee in other form will not be accepted.
10. Important Notes:
- Candidates shall have to produce original documents/testimonials at the time of interview, failing which, they shall not be allowed for interview.
- The original certificates/degree etc. of the candidate(s) are subject to verification before joining, in case of selection.
- Candidates with incomplete applications or without relevant supporting enclosures (i.e., self-attested copies of degree/certificates/marks sheets/experience certificate/reprint of important publications, without photographs, signatures, and prescribed fee) will not be interviewed.
11. Age Relaxation: Age relaxation for SC / ST / OBC / PWD etc. will be as per the Government of India rules. The candidates are required to attach valid proof for claiming relaxation as per the guidelines prescribed by the Government of India, from time to time.
12. Relaxation of Eligibility Requirements: In exceptionally meritorious cases or under special circumstances, the eligibility requirements of age, educational qualification, and experience for the position may be relaxed.
13. Selection Process: The process of selection may include presentation/interview or any other process as decided by the Competent Authority.
14. Withdrawal of Post: The Institute reserves the right to withdraw the advertised post at any time without assigning any reason. The Institute also reserves the right to fill or not to fill the post, and its decision in this regard shall be final.
15. No TA/DA: No TA/DA will be paid for attending the Walk-in-Interview.

17. CANVASSING: CANVASSING IN ANY FORM MAY LEAD TO CANCELLATION OF CANDIDATURE.
