About the job
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the smooth functioning of the laboratory, assisting in experimental preparation, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and setting up laboratory experiments, including handling wet and dry chemicals
- Safely and efficiently handle chemicals and laboratory equipment
- Maintain an accurate inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and disposal of chemicals and other hazardous materials
- Clean, sterilize, and organize laboratory equipment and workspaces
- Adhere to and enforce laboratory safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment
- Provide assistance to researchers, educators, and students during experiments
- Keep detailed records of laboratory activities and experimental setups
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum B.Sc. in Physics or Chemistry
- Proven experience working with both wet and dry chemicals
- Strong knowledge of laboratory safety standards and protocols
- Proficiency in handling and maintaining laboratory equipment
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in an academic or research laboratory environment
