Job Purpose
- OTIFQ delivery of experimental plan and technical deliverables, as well as VC deliverables.
- Assist in creating and sustaining competitive advantage against market leaders.
- Work on INNOVATION & RENOVATION projects for the organization’s plan.
- Compliance with global AkzoNobel HSE&S and PS policies and Sustainability requirements for NPDs is mandatory.
- Develop product know-how and understanding of customer needs, market insights, and practices.
Key Accountabilities
- HS&S: Act HSE&S responsible and assist Lab Manager/Steward to ensure and implement safe working conditions, consistent with global HSE&S & Sustainability policies.
- Take individual responsibility for planning and conducting experimental work plans for new product development & renovation, and assist project manager to achieve OTIFQ of project deliverables to meet stakeholders’ needs.
- Contribute to leveraging globally available technologies and repeatable architecture models.
- Assist product owner in providing technical support for customer complaints.
- Accurate preparation and recording of experimental work with clear and concise presentation of key technical data.
Experience
Field of Experience: Coatings, preferably in water-based paints, construction chemicals, latex, etc.
Business and Functional Skills/Knowledge Essential:
- Innovative in work approach.
- Hands-on work approach and commitment.
- Knowledge of exterior product performance and correlation with lab test parameters.
- Excellent analytical ability.
- Conversant with paint testing and test methods.
- Good chemistry/polymer chemistry knowledge/paint formulation.
- Sensitive to HSE&S/sustainability.
- System orientation and conversant with the work planning process.
Desirable:
- Team working.
- Workable knowledge of statistical design of experiments.
- Age: The incumbent should be around 25-30 years old.
Education
- B Tech or M Tech (Chemical Technology / Polymer / Surface Coating Technology) / M Sc (Chemistry) from an institute of repute with 1-3 years of experience.
