Call of Applications for Summer Internship Programme
Applications are invited for Summer Internship Programme for 5 to 8 weeks commencing from 15th May, 2024 to 15th July, 2024 without any fellowship. Internship will be in offline mode. The candidates are required to apply online from IITs, NITs, IISERs, National Labs, Centrally funded technical Institutions, CEAs, Government Universities, Private institutions/Universities. Indian Academy of Sciences, DST Inspire or Similar organization.
The department will prepare the selection criteria and merit list depending on the requirement of the number of interns.

The last date of submission of applications is 24th March, 2024 (Sunday).
- The candidates must select Research Supervisor in their relevant field of study/ course. They have an option in the form to select at most 3 Research Supervisors.
- The Candidates are required to do their internship in one department under one supervisor only.
- Hostel accommodation on sharing basis will be provided subject to availability on chargeable basis. The application for accommodation (only after being selected for internship) should reach the office of Dean of Student Affairs through the faculty supervisor and the HOD for permission. The cost towards food and access to other amenities have to be paid by the student. Accommodation is only available if student pursues internship between 15th May, 2024 to 15th July, 2024.
- No financial assistance will be provided to the candidates.

Ques.1: How to edit my submitted application for summer internship 2024?
Ans.1 You can edit your submitted application by login to the portal using your ID and Password.
Ques.2: What to upload for the Transcripts demanded in the document section?
Ans.2 Transcript is the consolidated sheet indicating your marks/CGPA earned in previous semesters. In case you don’t have the same, you can attach your previous semesters’ gradesheets.
Ques.3: Is it necessary to attach bonafide certificate with an application?
Ans.3 Yes.
Ques.4: What is the format for bonafide certificate?
Ans.4 The bonafide certificate can be in the format as issued by your institute/college/university. The candidate should include his/her present year of study and the degree pursuing.
Ques.5: Can any candidate who is presently not enrolled in any UG or PG program in any university/college/institute may apply for this internship?
Ans.5 For summer internship, the candidate needs to be a bonafide student of institute/college/university (mentioned in the published advertisement).
Ques.6: When the list of selected candidates will be released or when we will be notified? Ans.6 After the last date of an application (mentioned in advt.), the process of scrutinization will commence, which will take few days time. You need to regularly visit the website for an update, however, an intimation email from the department will also be forwarded to the selected candidates.
Ques.7: How should I select Research Supervisor?
Ans.7 The Candidates are advised to visit the Website of IIT Ropar and select the appropriate department and research supervisor according to his/her interest. After selecting, the candidates fill the name of research supervisor in the online form.
