Job Purpose: Perform chemical reactions in process development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform synthetic chemistry reactions, reaction workups, purification of the compounds by column chromatography, crystallization, re-crystallization techniques, preparative TLC, and operating lab equipment’s
- Ensure that the samples generated during synthesis are given for analysis and record subsequent results obtained and update the reporting manager / group leader on the progress of synthesis and ensure samples are packed appropriately for shipment
- Record the observations of experiment/reaction, results, utilization of resources and other activities related to the reaction in the laboratory or e-notebook following guidelines and in timely manner and ensure that the same is handled safely and confidentially
- Ensure that the instrument / equipment is calibrated, undergone preventive maintenance, and are kept clean before use and in case of any breakdown, report to maintenance immediately
- Always ensure readiness of the facility
- Contemporaneous Documentation of the activities in electronic notebooks, lab notebooks during the batch analysis as per ALCOA principle
- Ensure equipment PM & instrument calibration are within the due date by coordinating with EAM team
- Calibration checking for the instruments like pH meter and KF titrator
- Maintain always keeping of the working area clean
- Update and maintain the logbooks and daily checklists
- Must have good hold on MS office (word, excel, ppt), outlook, and other essential tools required for routine activity
- Cooperation with coworker and focus on good relationship with all cross functional team
- Maintain the inventory of chemicals, intermediates, products for completed and ongoing projects
Educational Qualification: M.Sc Chemistry
Work Experience: 1 to 3 Years of experience in the relevant area
Skills and Capabilities:
- Should have the experience Perform synthetic chemistry reactions, reaction workups, purification of the compounds by column chromatography, crystallization, re-crystallization techniques, preparative TLC, and operating lab equipment’s
- Should have the knowledge of handling hazardous, pyrophoric, and toxic chemicals, solvents
- Should have the good documentation knowledge updating in logbooks and lab note/electronic notebooks.
- Should have communication and good computer skills
- Should have the knowledge of preparation of the documents like SOP, IOP and Method of analysis
