Position: Research Scientist – Special Technologies (6502)

Reporting to: Group Leader – Process Technology
Position Purpose
The Research Scientist will be responsible for the development of assigned projects within a given timeframe, adhering to safety and environmental rules. This includes conducting thorough literature surveys, bench-scale trials, preparation of SOPs, and necessary documentation. The role also involves demonstrating the developed chemical process to the PD team and providing support in KL, pilot plant, and commercial plant for successful technology transfer.
Strategic Responsibilities
- Understand the objective of projects and the associated chemistry through MSDS
- Conduct additional literature searches as required
- Contribute to planning experiments, manpower, glassware, raw materials, and analysis
- Maintain lab equipment properly and ensure proper housekeeping and use of PPEs
- Handle and dispose of toxic chemicals safely using relevant MSDS
Operational Responsibilities
- Conduct bench-scale experiments as per plan and identify critical parameters
- Coordinate with QC for analytical support and development
- Optimize processes with respect to identified critical parameters and conduct impurities characterization and synthesis
- Understand the parameters responsible for impurities
- Validate processes by reproducing minimum three consecutive batches
- Compile experimental observations and data
- Conduct demo batches to PD
- Check quality plan, plant SOP, and perform use test of raw materials
- Compile data and update KL/PP plant trials regularly
Financial Responsibilities
- Contribute to budget proposals
- Ensure budgetary controls within the area of responsibility
People Responsibilities
- Utilize all available sources for skill up-gradation
- Actively participate in problem-solving sessions and training programs
- Coordinate and communicate with the team
- Guide subordinates
Education Qualification
Master and PhD in Organic Chemistry from a reputed University / Institute
Work Experience
0-8 years of Industrial Experience
