The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is responsible for engaging, collaborating, and aligning with a broad range of external stakeholders. Their goal is to co-create value, address patient needs, and improve patient access and outcomes. MSLs leverage scientific evidence during their engagements and identify insights and opportunities that inform various strategies and medical initiatives. They also contribute to healthcare partnerships and implement disease area strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Be a strategic internal partner, gathering and leveraging insights to contribute to various strategies and plans
- Identify data gaps, data generation opportunities, and key unmet needs
- Map external stakeholders in alignment with the medical strategy
- Personalize and expand stakeholder engagement beyond Healthcare Professionals
- Communicate the right evidence to stakeholders in a timely and compliant manner
- Support clinical trials, utilize digital channels, and lead scientific events and medical education
- Manage personal and professional development
Role Requirements
Essential Requirements:
- Pharmacist, Masters, or other post-graduate degree in health/life sciences. Doctoral degree preferred
- Working knowledge of the healthcare system and research procedures
- Experience in a medical function in at least one therapeutic area
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills
- Ability to adapt, collaborate, and work effectively in a dynamic environment
- Proven ability to leverage new technology for effective stakeholder management
- Strong business mentality and personal integrity
Desirable Requirements:
Oncology experience
