About the job
Process Competency engineers are responsible for ensuring that the products and services produced meet and/or exceed customer expectations. They commonly work with a team of other engineers, scientists, and technicians to develop new processes, test existing ones, and ensure that everything meets standards set by regulatory agencies.
Process Competency engineers may also be tasked with developing new ways to improve production efficiency or reduce costs. This might include anything from finding ways to streamline manufacturing equipment to automating manual tasks so they can be completed faster and more accurately.
Process Competency Engineer Job Duties
Process Competency engineers have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:
- Reviewing data collected during production runs to identify potential causes of defects or failures to make improvements to the manufacturing process
- Reviewing design specifications and providing feedback on how to improve designs based on industry standards
- Conducting investigations into customer complaints about product defects or errors to determine the cause of the problem and how to prevent it from happening again
- Coordinating with suppliers to ensure that materials meet the quality standards specified by the company
- Developing procedures for measuring manufacturing processes to ensure that they meet industry standards for quality
- Maintaining records of quality control measures and equipment maintenance schedules for all production lines
- Working with production staff to identify potential problems with the manufacturing process before they become serious issues
- Conducting audits of production facilities to ensure that they are following company standards and complying with applicable regulations
Education Background: Bachelor of engineering with 3 to 4 years of relevant industrial experience or Post Graduation candidates with Chemistry or material science with experience in Quality Engineering/Raw material testing or Process Improvement.
Exposure to continuous manufacturing operations is added advantage.
