Hey, You can prepare for the interview by practising the following questions:
Q. Can you describe your experience in new raw material analysis and introduction? How have you ensured the quality and compatibility of new raw materials?
Answer: In my previous role, I was responsible for conducting comprehensive analysis of new raw materials before their introduction into the manufacturing process. This involved performing various tests and evaluations to determine their chemical composition, physical properties, and compatibility with our existing formulations. I followed established protocols and industry standards to ensure the quality and consistency of the raw materials. Additionally, I collaborated closely with suppliers to obtain detailed information about the materials and their manufacturing processes, ensuring transparency and adherence to our quality standards.
Q. Have you handled investigations of internal rejected batches and customer complaints before? Can you provide an example of a situation where you successfully resolved such an issue?
Answer: Yes, I have experience in investigating internal rejected batches and addressing customer complaints. One notable example involved a batch of lubricant that was consistently failing internal quality checks. I conducted a thorough analysis of the batch, employing techniques like FTIR spectroscopy, particle size analysis, and viscosity measurements. Through this investigation, I identified a contamination issue originating from a specific raw material supplier. I promptly engaged with the supplier, shared my findings, and collaborated to rectify the problem. By implementing corrective actions and closely monitoring subsequent batches, we successfully resolved the issue and improved the overall product quality.
Q.How familiar are you with used analysis, revalidation of raw materials and finished goods, and slop management? Can you explain your approach to these tasks?
Answer: I have extensive experience in used analysis, revalidation of raw materials and finished goods, as well as slop management. Used analysis involves analyzing samples taken from equipment and machinery to evaluate the condition and performance of lubricants over time. Revalidation of raw materials and finished goods entails periodic testing to ensure their continued compliance with quality standards. Slop management involves proper handling and disposal of waste materials generated during manufacturing processes.
My approach to these tasks involves conducting a range of tests, such as viscosity measurements, elemental analysis, and thermal stability assessments. I use advanced analytical techniques like FTIR and Ferrography to identify any degradation or contamination issues. By comparing the results against established specifications and standards, I can make informed decisions regarding revalidation, potential adjustments to formulations, or necessary corrective actions.
Q: What instruments have you worked with for analysis purposes, such as Ferrography, FTIR, particle size analyzer, flow pressure, etc.? Can you give examples of how you utilized these instruments in your previous work?
Answer: I have hands-on experience working with a variety of analytical instruments for testing and analysis purposes. For instance, I have utilized Ferrography to examine wear particles and assess the condition of lubricated components. FTIR spectroscopy has been instrumental in identifying chemical composition and detecting contaminants in lubricant samples. Particle size analyzers have allowed me to determine the distribution and size of particles in suspensions or emulsions. I have also used flow pressure instruments to assess the rheological properties of lubricants under different conditions, such as temperature and pressure.
In a specific example, I used FTIR spectroscopy to analyze lubricant samples from a production line experiencing performance issues. By comparing the FTIR spectra of the problematic samples to a reference spectrum, I identified a significant contamination issue originating from a specific source. This finding enabled us to take immediate action, investigate the root cause, and implement corrective measures to prevent further product quality issues.
Q.Have you conducted water condition monitoring and analysis in your previous roles? How did you ensure the quality of RO water, raw water, and process scale-up water?
Answer: Yes, I have conducted water condition monitoring and analysis in previous roles. To ensure the quality of water, I followed established protocols and utilized various techniques such as pH measurement, conductivity analysis, microbial testing, and chemical analysis. For RO water, I monitored parameters like conductivity, total dissolved solids (TDS), and pH to ensure it met the required standards for use in the manufacturing process. Similarly, I performed regular analysis of raw water to identify any potential contaminants or impurities that could impact the quality of the final product.
