Job Title: Polymer Scientist -Coatings Technology Centre
Eligibility Criteria:
- Ph.D. degree in polymer or material science, chemical engineering, polymer chemistry or organic chemistry
- Ability to apply both fundamental polymers science concepts and creativity to the development of new polymers
- Excellent hands-on experimentation and superior problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to work and partner effectively with individuals outside of their own organization.
- Hands-on skills in the preparation of polymers using a variety of techniques including but not limited to Free radical polymerization and or Controlled Free Radical Polymerization, Condensation Polymerization, Emulsion Polymerization
- High level of chemistry competency relating to the elucidation of structure-property relationships
- Experience in the preparation & monitoring of Intellectual Property
- Experience of working across cultures and being part of a global team
- Hands-on experience in Analytical instrumentation
- Ability to effectively use Design of Experiments (DOE)
- Skilled in Project development process (Converting Intellectual Property into Projects) and subsequent Project management
- Experience in following Work procedures and using enterprise resource planning tools.
Description
They are seeking a professional to join our Technical team for Coatings. In this role, you will be responsible for:
• Proactively identifying business opportunities, planning, and executing laboratory research for the development of resins/ polymers for automotive coatings;
• Collaborating with Global and Internal Product Development and Color Groups, synthesizing resins, generating Intellectual Property as well as serve as the intellectual property expert for the Resin group
• Performing advanced analysis of polymers and running proof of concept experiments;
• Introducing new resins into production and contributing towards continuous improvement by replicating manufacturing scenarios in the lab
Staying current with scientific and technical advances in your working field and exploring new opportunities in polymers and/or resins chemistry and processes;
• Collaborating with our global resin colleagues and leading the localization of global technologies;
• Establishing and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by being aware of and implementing company-wide and site safety policies/procedures.
