Qualifications M. Sc. Chemistry, Materials Science, Nanosciences or allied disciplines) or M. Tech (Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Nanoscience, and Nanotechnology or allied disciplines)
Experience 1-2 years experience in research projects and project management; in the hands-on operation of major analytical instruments highly preferred (e.g., Scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, Thermogravimetric analysis, Gas chromatography, Ion chromatography, UV-visible spectrophotometry, IR spectrometry);
Preferred: 1-2 years teaching experience preferred;
Skills Good verbal and written communication skills.
Job Responsibilties:
The Center Technical Officer (CTO) will be in charge of a set of equipment in the Major Analytical Instrumentation Facility as determined by the Head, Center of Excellence in Advanced Materials and Green Technologies.
This will include their daily operation, calibration and maintenance, and characterization of internal and external
samples. The CTO will work with the faculty of the Center regarding the purchase and management of consumables of the Center, teach sessions in certificate courses, serve as the point of contact of the Center in the campus and coordinate visits to the Center.
