MNNIT Chemical Engineering Job Opening – Applications Invited
Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the post of Junior Research Fellow (on contract) in the research project entitled “Effect of Dual Modifications of Starch Isolated from Various Cultivars of Sorghum for the Production of Specialty and Resistant Starches and Evaluation of Genotype Diversity in Cultivars Using Flour As Model” sanction letter no. F.No. Q-11/30/2018 dated 13/12/2018 sponsored by Ministry of Food Processing, GOI, New Delhi.
Description and Objectives of the Project: The project is aimed at the development of innovative and green methods to modify starch from sorghum for enhancement of resistant starch content or production of speciality starches. Both chemical and biochemical routes in combination with physical modification of starch may be utilized to find new applications of starch. The project also aims to evaluate genotype diversity in sorghum cultivars of India using flour as model.

Essential Qualifications: M.Tech. or M.E. in Chemical Engineering
Desirable Experience: One-year research experience in a related area.

Salary 25,000.00 per month (Consolidated) + HRA (as per norms).
Accommodation may be available as per the availability and the Institute norms. The candidate selected for the JRF
Inay register for PhD if eligibility conditions as set by the institute is met by him/her. The facility of yearly leave, carryover leave, medical benefits etc. may IN available as per applicable rules of the project staff.Age:28 years on the last date of application (The upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PH and women candidates)
It may be noted that the project involves experimental work only and hence the selected candidate has to perform experiments in the lab apart from other duties.
The position is purely temporary and will be governed by the funding agency rules & service conditions of Office of the Dean (Research & Consultancy), MNNIT Allahabad
Tenure of Appointment: Appointment will be made on contract basis for a period of one year initially, which may be extended depending on the performance evaluation on yearly basis till the end of the project. The project will end in December 2021.
Note:
1.The applicant will be responsible for the authenticity of införmation, other documents and photographs submitted.
2. The Institute reserves the right to accept application at any time, and consider candidates of exceptional credentials without applications.
3. Qualification and experience may be relaxed by the Institute at any point of time for otherwise exceptional candidates. Mere, possessing the prescribed qualification does not ensure that the candidate would be called for Interview. The Candidates will be shonlisted on the basis of Inerit and need of the project.
4. Shortlisted Candidates will be informed by e-mail about the interview date. So, the candidate must provide valid Email IDs in their applications.
5. Shortlisted candidates have to present themselves for the interview on the interview date with updated CV, publications if any and original and attested photocopies of mark sheets/ certificates in support of their academic qualifications. Due to COVID-19, the mode of the interview will be informed to the shortlisted candidates via the email id provided in the application form.
6. Applicants in employment (private, government or any other organization) are required to submit a “No Objection Certificate” from the employer at the time of interview.
7. No TAIDA will be paid for appearing in the interview.
