Job Title: Analytical Chemist

Academic Qualification:

Masters in Analytical Chemistry or equivalent with 3 to 5 years experience in Material Science/Minerology/Analytical Chemistry

Experience & Skills:

Good technical knowledge in Analytical Chemistry/Physical chemistry experience in analyzing gas species using the mass spectrometer. Experience in various sample preparation techniques. Knowledge in materials characterization methods.

• Strong analytical chemistry/mineralogy background and established research experience
• Experience in chemical characterization methods such as NMR, GC-MS, SIMS,IR.
• The demonstrated track record on chemical characterization of gases using mass spectroscopy.
• Ability to build experimental capabilities and sample preparation methods
• Knowledge in materials characterization using SEM, optical microscopy
• Experience in operating different analytical instruments and analysing the results
• Should have good communication skills and ability to write technical reports

Objective of this position:

Technically support the new Gas bubble analysis co competency under Glass defects competency. Works closely with the Manufacturing

people to understand plant issues and contribute to competency development.

Specific Accountabilities are as follows:

• Installation and commissioning support for Gas bubble analysis. Analysis of gas bubbles on a regular basis and provide technical insights to the manufacturing team.
• Contribute to short-term development projects to support the immediate needs of business and R&D. Document results and present to R&D/Business teams.
• Contribute to projects related to upgrading and setting up new experimental capabilities in raw materials, defects competency & Minerology competency. Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of pertinent research equipment. Provide operational metrics and strive for continuous improvement to meet customer demands.
• Provide technical recommendations in building experimental prototypes and testing.
• Work well with the team and be inclusive.
• Contributing to transversal activities across different competencies.
