Job Title: Research Assistant
Job Description:
- Carry out assigned technical jobs of conducting experiments and upkeep of equipment/units laboratory/pilot plant and record data with diligence.
- Set up reactor assemblies /experimental set ups to carry out tests/experiments.
- Carry out preparation/synthesis of samples in lab scale.
- Doing structural, textural & mechanical testing/ characterization using relevant equipment such as XRD, Physisorption/chemisorption unit, TPD, microscopy, Thermal analyzer, IR/UV-Visible spectrometer, GC, HPLC etc.
- Upkeep of reactors & analytical instruments and usage log in laboratory/pilot plant
- Maintain record of spares / consumables lab and initiate procedure for replenishment
Job Accountabilities :
- Follow and abide by HSE and standard operating procedures of greenhouse and bio-safety
while carryout the operations. - Execute a set of assigned tasks of Pond preparation, inoculation, nutrient addition pH
maintenance, salinity correction, culture harvesting and discard. - Manage, operate and supervise the water system maintenance
- Manage and supervise the pond cleaning, arrangement of fresh and sea water, inoculation.
- Collect and deliver samples for laboratory testing
- Segregation and disposal of wastes generated in the greenhouse according to the standard operating procedure
- Operate & record the data /reading from different equipment’s as per given instructions and also maintenance of equipment’s: pH, salinometer, light meter, thermometer and water pumps etc.
- Operate and involve in maintenance of Greenhouse operations: greenhouse cooling pad, exhaust fans.
- Ensure compliance with internal technical management systems
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of microorganisms, chemicals, biosafety, HSE policies, M.S. Word ,PPT & Excel is an added advantage
Skills:
- Ability to handle basic lab equipment’s such as spectrophotometer, pH meter, salinometer, weighing balance.
- Basic microbiological techniques and knowledge of sampling techniques, data analysis and documentation methods
- Ability to understand and implement the HSE and standard operating procedures of greenhouse and bio-safety guidelines.
- M.Sc. in Biology/agricultural sciences. Experience of 1-2 years of relevant experience of working in greenhouse
or research lab will be preferred
