Project Title: Spectroscopic studies of membrane protein folding and function
Age Limit: Applicant should not have completed 25 years of age at the time of joining.
Salary:: Rs. 12,000/- p.m. (consolidated).
Job Description:
Generation of mutant library using conventional site-directed mutagenesis, membrane protein expression, protein purification, membrane protein folding and unfolding measurements using tryptophan fluorescence, data analysis. Other research-related work can be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
- First class M. Sc./ M. Tech./ B. Tech. degree from a recognized university or institute in one of the following disciplines:
Biophysics
Biochemistry
Physical Chemistry
Physical Sciences

Description of research in the laboratory: We are working towards discovering the link between membrane protein folding, protein stability and function. We combine ultrafast kinetics and equilibrium spectroscopic measurements with electrophysiology measurements and cell survival assays to
obtain a complete understanding of membrane protein regulation.
