be considered for a reduced salary of 12,000/- p.m. + HRA as per DBT rule).
Job Description/Nature of Work:
The project is focused to understand the role of change in lipid composition of the cell membrane that may occur with aging or increasing oxidative stress due to lack of antioxidant defense in cognitive neurodegenerative disorders. To model large-scale biological systems, we will employ the state-of-the-art molecular dynamics simulation techniques, which is the ultimate microscope that can zoom into the atomic level and capture the dynamic view of the system. The project is highly interdisciplinary in nature catering the knowledge of physics, chemistry, and
structural biology.
Qualifications:
- Eligibility:
• MSc in Chemistry (preferably with physical chemistry specialization) or
Physics or Biophysics or Biomathematics from a recognized
University/Institute with a minimum of 55% Marks or CGPA equivalent.
• Candidates should have Mathematics at the undergraduate (Bachelor) level.
• Preferably having qualified NET or GATE with a valid score or any other
similar type of national level exam.
• Master students appearing for the final exam can also apply. However, final
mark sheet must be submitted at the time of interview.
• Candidates should be below 26 years of age at the time of application. - Desirables: Candidates with computational chemistry/physics experience, and sound
knowledge in computer programing (C/C++/Fortran, Python, Perl etc.) will be
preferred. Further, exposure to computer simulations (such as Molecular Dynamics,
Monte Carlo methods) will be preferred.
